The School of Education at BPCU mourns the loss of Mrs. Alicia Hartley, a devoted educator, leader, and cherished member of our community. Tragically, Mrs. Hartley lost her life in a car accident in Alamo, GA, a heartbreaking event that has deeply saddened all who knew her. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, colleagues, students, and friends, but her legacy of service and faith will continue to inspire many.
Mrs. Hartley faithfully served as the Director of Exceptional Learners for the Montgomery County School System. Throughout her career, she was a passionate advocate for students with special needs, dedicated to ensuring they received the support and resources necessary to thrive. Her unwavering commitment to her calling was evident in her daily work, where she demonstrated compassion, leadership, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of her students and their families.
In addition to her role in the school system, Mrs. Hartley was an active supporter of our program at BPCU. She generously dedicated her time to serve on mock interview panels for graduating seniors, providing meaningful guidance and encouragement for young people preparing to enter the workforce. Her mentorship extended to future educators as well, as she played a vital role in mentoring teacher candidates and inspiring new teachers as they embarked on their careers.
Mrs. Hartley was known for her strong and unwavering faith, which guided her actions and the way she cared for others.
